VIETNAM - SAIMETE AGREEMENT
Gurkhas Institute of Hospitality & Management signed a historic Education
Cooperation Agreement with Saigon Institute of Economics & Technology -SAIMETE
(Truong Cao Dang Kinh Te – Ky thuat Saigon) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on May
2010.
The agreement will allow Gurkhas Institute, in partnership with SAIMETE,
to deliver Australian Qualifications in Vietnam to local students. Gurkhas
Institute will initially provide courses in Hospitality Management.
The Education Cooperation Agreement was jointly signed by Mr Sudhir Shakya,
Chief Operating Officer and Mr Stephen Henderson, Director of Studies
(representing Gurkhas Institute), and by Prof. DrSc Pham Pho, Chairman, Board of
Management and Rector and Mr Pham Ngoc Duong Vice Rector (representing
SAIMETE).
Gurkhas Institute's Director of Studies Mr Henderson said that it is an
important milestone for Gurkhas Institute in its ambition to provide and promote
quality Australian Education to the International market. He is confident that
this cooperation will benefit the local Vietnamese students wanting to attain
Australian qualification and develop their careers.
